Corki's
Corner
I would like to introduce to you, my new
puppy, Fazoli Ferocious. Fazoli (nickname Fuzz), is a boxer mix mutt
from the good people at ARFF.
Although no one will ever replace my dog,
Corki, Fazoli has been a blessing and a new challenge. She was named
Fazoli in honor Corki. When I traveled up north, Corki and I would stop
on the way to eat., Her favorite place was a fast food Italian place. We
would have a "Fazoli Picnic". It just seemed fitting to name the new dog
with Corki's memory in mind.
Fazoli is certainly her own dog, with a
distinct attitude of her own. She loves to go on runs with me, play in
the garden and chew anything in site. Fazoli's favorite toy is a golf
ball, on the kitchen floor at 2am in the morning. She has great
potential to be a fine dog.

To be listed on
Corki's Corner is an honor, because it means that you worked hard. This
season, as you achieve your personal bests,
email me so I can feature your
accomplishments here on Corki's Corner.

A
Message from Anne Marie |
Did your
golf game improve this year? I have had many students walk up to me and
say, "My handicap dropped from a 12.4 to a 7 this year!" Or "This year,
I broke 100" I want to hear from you about how you improved this year.
Email
me with your stories so I can share your success with others here on
Corki's Corner.

Great Accomplishments! |
Jeff Doster, one
of my favorite students, friends, and guy that helps me return
phone calls, did what I have only heard of one other student
doing in all my years in golf. Jeff holed out his SECOND shot on
a par 5 for a DOUBLE EAGLE!!!! It's officially called an
albatross, but I just call it amazing. Congratulations, Jeff. I
am proud of you.
Linda Ernst just
keeps on getting better and better. Her handicap has dropped 15
strokes since last Spring. This week, she shot a fantastic 44 on
the Bermuda Run West Course. Keep your eye on Linda. She's going
to do great things this year!
Joan Ricci shot an
amazing 43 the other day at Old Home Place. Not only did she
strike the ball well, but she had 14 putts on the front nine!
Congratulations to my friend and student, Joan for doing great
things!
ACE!!!! John Hohn recorded his very first hole in one. He
sunk a 7 iron from 146 yards out. Way to go, John!!
Ben Schlottman broke par for nine holes during his last
tournament, carding a 35. Ben is an exceptional young golfer who
recently was featured in a picture in Triad Golf Today. Keep
your eye on this young champion.
Double Eagle for Ted Thomerson
A BIG congratulations to Ted Thomerson who had a DOUBLE EAGLE
on #2 at Oak Valley. He hit a good drive then HOLED a shot from
225 yards out on a par 5 for a score of TWO! That is awesome.
Ted went on to shoot a 37-39. Keep an eye on Ted. He's going to be
under par before you know it. Great job, Ted. I am proud of you!!
Congratulations to Eric Mitchell, who won the Forsyth County
Junior Championships with a score of 34-40-34. Talk about putting
together three great 9 hole scores! Eric is one of the best
junior golfers in the state. Keep up the great work, Eric!
Super Job!!!
Eric won the Forsyth County Tourney for his age group
(34/40/34).
"I am proud of all of the juniors who strive to do
their best in competition. Whether they finish first or last, the fact
that they try is impressive. Champions are not always the ones holding
the trophy. They are the ones who play with honor and integrity, grit
and determination. Way to go, juniors!"

About Corki |
Corki Ferocious was a
12 year old, Corgi-Beagle Mix. She was rescued from the Forsyth
County Animal Shelter when she was just a small pup and had been
my best friend ever since.
Although a small dog, she had a "big dog" attitude. A talented
hunter, Corki once chased down her prey for more than eight
hours. She never gave in and she never backed down. When I think of
the word tenacious, I think of her.
Corki
Ferocious lived 12 1/2 great years as Anne Marie's closest friend. She
passed away this January after doctors found advanced stages of cancer
in her stomach. Corki's Corner will still be on my website as a place
to honor such a terrific dog. She died as she lived, with great style.
If you wish to make a donation in Corki's memory, you can consider the
Forsyth County Animal Shelter where she was adopted many
years ago. |
