The First Tee®
of the Triad

Anne Marie is proud to announce that the First Tee of the Triad is
here! Starting in March 2008, the First Tee will be open to children,
ages 8-18. The First Tee of the Triad is a non-profit organization
that teaches children valuable life skills through golf.
Using the Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship,
Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy, Judgment,
The First Tee hopes to make a difference in the lives of children
right here in our own community.
The children will go through 6-8 week programs. As they graduate
through each level, the student gains insight and confidence that will
help them for years to come.
If you would like to be a part of this great organization, as a
volunteer, supporter, or sponsor, please contact Anne Marie at

About The First Tee:
The First Tee has as its
mission “to impact the lives of young people around the world by
creating affordable and accessible golf facilities to primarily serve
those who have not previously had exposure to the game and it’s positive
values”.
Local
youth from age 8 to 18 who enter The First Tee program will learn more
than just the fundamentals of a good golf swing. The First Tee has
established Nine Core Values that represent some of the many inherently
positive values connected with the game of golf. These Nine Core values,
Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility,
Perseverance, Courtesy, and Judgment are incorporated into The First Tee
experience. The local instructors are trained through The First Tee
Regional Training Sessions to create a seamless approach in golf and
Life Skills instruction.
The life
skills or “Core Values” that The First Tee teaches is what really makes
The First Tee program different from most golf programs. The way the
“Core Values” are integrated into the golf instruction, the participates
learn great personal skills in a fun and effective manner. Participates
learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive
attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible
consequences; how to define and set goals; and how to transfer values
such as responsibility, honesty, respect, confidence, and sportsmanship
from the golf course to daily life.”
